On June 14, 2024, the expanded meeting of the CCS Chemistry Editorial Board was successfully held in Guangzhou, China. Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Dr. Xi Zhang, delivered an insightful lecture summarizing the recent advancements of CCS Chemistry. The meeting also included in-depth discussions on AI policies for the journal, special sections, strategies to enhance international influence, and promotion tactics, with participants offering valuable suggestions for the journal's future direction.
Key Achievements:
✦ Submission Growth: 2023 marked the fifth year since the founding of CCS Chemistry. The journal has seen consistent growth in both the quality and quantity of submissions, receiving over 1,100 submissions in 2023—a 24% increase compared to 2022.
✦ Publication and Citation Growth: Over the past five years, CCS Chemistry has published more than 1,000 articles, which have been cited over 20,000 times. Total downloads have exceeded 2.6 million. Authors from over ten countries and regions, including China, the United States, Singapore, and Germany etc., have contributed to the journal, enhancing its global reach and impact. The journal's first impact factor has reached an impressive 11.2, and four papers were recognized as "Excellent Academic Papers" by the China Association for Science and Technology.
✦ Special Columns Gaining Traction: The "Editorial" and "Author Spotlight" columns have garnered increasing attention. To date, 163 authors from 14 countries and regions have shared their research experiences and stories in the "Author Spotlight".
✦ Journal Promotion: The CCS Chemistry website has accumulated over 6.4 million visits, with nearly half of them are international. The journal's presence on new media platforms is also growing, with the official WeChat account amassing over 26,000 followers and over 1 million total reads. Additionally, the Twitter and Facebook accounts have more than 7,700 followers combined, with total views exceeding 1.8 million.
The meeting underscored the journal's commitment to maintaining high standards and continuing its trajectory of growth and influence in the global scientific community.
