CCS Publications was established in 2018 in order to begin a new era for the society to independently publish journals and other scholarly content. Publishing research journals has always been considered an important task of the society, and the society's aspiration of having an independent publishing program has now come to fruition.

CCS launched its first journal as an independent publisher, CCS Chemistry, in 2019. CCS Chemistry is the flagship journal of the society and is fully owned and published by CCS. The journal is positioned to be the premeire chemistry journal from China, publishing fewer than 200 carefully selected articles from researchers from China and all over the world.

CCS also collaborates with institutions and organizations in China to co-publish 25 journals, in Chinese and English, 14 of which are indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI).
